2010: Debbie Field, Winner, City of Toronto Green Toronto Awards 2010, Local Food Category

  FoodShare proudly announces that Executive Director Debbie Field has won the inaugural Green Toronto Award for Local Food.


2005 Debbie Field, FoodShare's Executive Director wins a 2005 Vital People Grant Award. Debbie is a recognized leader in the world of food security and has been instrumental in the growth of more than 400 student nutrition programs in Toronto. Her Vital People grant will allow her to research student nutrition programs and innovations in other countries to broaden her knowledge of programs and strategies that could be adopted in Toronto.

2005 FoodShare is named Best Social Enterprise by NOW Magazine, December

2005 FoodShare's Urban Agriculture Program wins a Green Toronto Award for the Sunshine Garden at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. July

2005 The Toronto Community Garden Network is recognized by the Ontario Parks Association for its spirit of community involvement.

2000 The Toronto Community Gardening Network and the Focus on Food Youth Program win City of Toronto Millennium Stars Prizes in the Environment and Youth categories respectively.

2000 Mary Lou Morgan is runner-up for the Ethics in Action Award

1996 FoodShare recognized for its "leadership and vision in working with communities to provide education and access to affordable, nutritious food" with the Elizabeth Chant Robertson Award, from the Toronto Home Economics Association and the Ontario Dietetic Association

1998 FoodShare's Field to Table Manager, Mary Lou Morgan, awarded the Jane Jacobs Prize for community service

1996 FoodShare Executive Director named one of "Toronto's Ten Best Organizers" by NOW Magazine
