Food Secure Canada: National Assembly 2008

The biennial National Assembly will be held in Ottawa, November 7th to 10th, co-hosted by FoodNet Ontario. The theme is Reclaiming Our Food System: A Call to Action.

November 7th, 7:00 pm: A special FREE public event featuring Olivier de Schutter, UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food, on The Food Crisis and Climate Change, with responses from René Segbenou (COPAGEN, West Africa) and Colleen Ross (National Farmers Union).

Registration for the Assembly is being handled by Ontario Healthy Communities Coalition, the administrative body for FoodNet Ontario. To register, click here >>

Registration cost (including reception, program, and most meals) is $325 for non-members and $280 for members up to October 15th. A limited number of scholarships will be available for members of FSC-SAC. You can apply for a scholarship on the registration form.

EXTENDED DEADLINE: The deadline for early registrations has been changed to October 15th. Please note that after that date, the fees will be $320 for members and $375 for non-members.

In making your travel arrangements, you may want to take advantage of a 10% discount being offered by VIA Rail, just reference the events VIA confirmation number 11449
