COOKING TRAINING

FoodShare's professional kitchen staff provide hands-on cooking training to a variety of program participants. Focus on Food Youth Interns, externs from George Brown College, youth from various public and high school classes, volunteers and Community Kitchen participants, all avail themselves of the expertise of our award winning team.

Topics include sanitation, knife skills, multicultural ways with food, conflict resolution, local and seasonal recipe ideas and more. Whether "Cooking out of the Box" using fresh fruits and vegetables from the Good Food Box or "Cooking on a Budget" with great meals designed for those living on a modest income, participants gain valuable knowledge on how to easily prepare and enjoy fresh food. Knowledge that will enrich the quality of their lives for years to come.

Our kitchen is a daily hive of activity, providing a healthy, stimulating learning environment for people of all ages and backgrounds. At FoodShare, we believe that a healthy kitchen is one that prepares great food in a positive, supportive environment. Every job is of equal value and every cook a respected member of the FoodShare community.
